The masked country singer, known for keeping most of his face hidden behind elaborate fringe, has spent years slowly revealing more of himself, both literally and artistically. There's something pointed about a masked man baring everything else. Peck has always used concealment as a tool, not a shield, and this cover feels like another deliberate move in a long game of making country music, and masculinity itself, room for gay men who never saw themselves in either.
