Who We Are

THE MALEQ LLC, doing business as Male Q ("Male Q", "we", "us"), runs maleq.com and decides how the personal information described here is used (the "controller" under the GDPR and UK GDPR). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Information You Give Us

We collect the information you provide when you:

• Create an account
• Place an order
• Subscribe to our newsletter
• Sign up for back-in-stock alerts or push notifications
• Contact customer support or use our support chat

This can include your name, email address, shipping and billing addresses, phone number, order history and the messages you send us. Card details are entered into Stripe’s secure payment form and go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the site, we and our providers automatically receive:

• Device and browser information (browser type, operating system)
• Your IP address
• The pages you visit and how you use them
• The website that referred you
• Your approximate location (country), worked out from your IP address

How We Use It and Our Legal Bases

We use personal information only for the purposes below. The legal basis we rely on under the GDPR and UK GDPR is shown in brackets.

• To process, ship and support your orders and run your account (performance of a contract)
• To send order confirmations, shipping updates and replies to your requests (performance of a contract)
• To send our newsletter, only if you subscribed; every newsletter has an unsubscribe link (consent)
• To remind you about a cart you left at checkout. Outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland on the basis of legitimate interests; inside them only if you opted in to marketing emails at checkout (consent)
• To measure how the site is used and improve it, with Google Analytics (consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland; legitimate interests elsewhere)
• To prevent fraud, abuse and bots and keep the site secure (legitimate interests)
• To keep tax and accounting records and meet other legal obligations (legal obligation)

Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the store, under contracts that limit how they may use it:

• Stripe: payment processing and fraud screening.
• Fulfillment warehouses and carriers: our partner warehouses pack and ship your order and carriers such as USPS and UPS deliver it. They receive your name, delivery address and phone number.
• Hosting providers: the servers that run the website, the store and its database.
• Cloudflare: content delivery, security and protection against abuse.
• Google: Google Analytics (site statistics), reCAPTCHA (bot protection on sign-in and registration forms) and Sign in with Google, if you choose to use it.
• Mailchimp (Intuit): sending our newsletter, if you subscribe.
• Apple (iCloud Mail): delivering the emails we send you.
• Anthropic: powering our support chat. The messages you type into the chat are sent to Anthropic to generate replies. We do not keep chat transcripts on our servers; your browser keeps the conversation until you clear it.
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): address suggestions at checkout. Our server sends it the address text you type, not your name or email address.
• Browser push services: if you turn on notifications, your browser’s push service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla) delivers them.

We may also disclose personal information:

• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

International Transfers

Male Q is based in the United States, and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on the safeguards in our providers’ data processing terms, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum) or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How Long We Keep It

• Orders and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires
• Your account: until you delete it in your account settings or ask us to delete it
• Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe
• Analytics data: no longer than 14 months
• Everything else, such as support messages: only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• SSL encryption for all data transmissions
• PCI-compliant payment processing
• Regular security assessments
• Limited access to personal information

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your information (you can also delete your account yourself in your account settings)
• Stop sending you marketing emails (every newsletter has an unsubscribe link)
• Withdraw a consent you gave, such as for analytics cookies

EEA, UK and Switzerland

You also have the right to restrict or object to our processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before.

California Residents

In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email address, postal address and IP address), customer records and commercial information (orders and purchase history), internet activity (pages viewed and interactions with the site) and approximate geolocation. We collect them from you, from your device and from our payment and shipping partners, use them for the purposes listed under "How We Use It and Our Legal Bases" and keep them for the periods listed under "How Long We Keep It".

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the last 12 months. Your orders can reveal sensitive information about your sex life; we use it only to provide the products and services you ask for.

You have the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted or corrected, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. You may use an authorized agent. We verify requests by matching the email address on your account or order.

Children's Privacy

Our website is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
