Water-based and fragrance-free, this lubricant comes as a smooth jelly gel that holds its body on the fingertips. It doesn't thin out right away, so it stays where you spread it, and it rinses off with plain water.
Gel Texture and Ingredient Makeup
Purified water forms the base. Glycerin adds slipperiness by holding moisture in the gel, and hydroxyethylcellulose gives the jelly its thick, smooth body. The formula has no oil in it, so it leaves no greasy film behind.
Two preservatives, chlorhexidine gluconate and methylparaben, keep the formula stable. Gluconolactone and sodium hydroxide work on the pH. Each ingredient and its role is set out below.
