Love Affair

Die and Card Piles Built for Repeated Rounds

Little Genie's Love Affair is a dice game built from a single game die, several card piles and a box to hold everything. The components are made to be used again and again. Once a card has been played, it goes back to the bottom of its deck, so the piles keep cycling through the same prompts night after night.

Matching Each Roll to a Card, Plus the Question Mark Wildcard

Players take turns rolling the die. Whatever symbol lands face up tells the rolling player which pile to draw from. That player reads the card and carries out the instruction on it, then returns the card to the bottom of the deck.

One face of the die shows a question mark, and it changes the draw. A player who rolls it may pick a card from any category they like. That gives the rolling player control over the next round, rather than leaving every choice to the random roll.

Five Turns Before the Love Affair Cards Open

The Love Affair cards stay locked until the rolling player has rolled at least five times. After that, the first player to land on a Love Affair result wins the game and draws from the Love Affair pile. The rule gives the early rounds a slower pace, and the wait adds a competitive edge to the game.

The box is compact at 7 inches long and 1.625 inches wide, so it slips easily into a drawer or a bag. At 0.625 pounds, it is light enough to carry anywhere you plan to play.
