It is an oil-based formula built from soybean oil, grape seed oil, and sweet almond oil, with C12-15 alkyl benzoate helping it spread evenly. The finish is soft and smooth rather than tacky, and the slip holds up through a long session, so you are not stopping every few minutes to add more.
Lecithin and tocopheryl acetate round out the blend. Because the base is oil, it behaves differently from a water-based glide. It stays on the skin longer and works best for massage on bare skin. Added to bathwater, it leaves skin feeling silky afterward, and the same oil can be smoothed on after a shower.
