Shaping a cake with a cheeky silhouette
Most party cakes look like cakes until someone cuts into them. This pan works the other way around. The silhouette is the point, and it is the first thing guests see when the cake comes out of the oven and lands on the dessert table. Batter goes in, the bake does the rest, and the result is a cake with an adult-oriented outline.
The pan is made from aluminum, which conducts heat evenly. That consistency matters with a shape this irregular, since the curves and narrow areas need to bake at the same pace as the rest of the cake.
The non-stick surface is meant to be treated with a baking release spray such as Baker's Secret before each use. With that step done, the cake lifts out cleanly from the detailed edges. The pan is easy to wash and can be reused for the next batch.
