Hagerstown marked the start of Pride month with the Hagerstown Pride Festival on Saturday, May 30, bringing together local LGBTQ+ people and allies for a day of celebration and community connection.
A gathering in the heart of the city
The festival was held outside Hub City Brewery, a central location that drew families, friends, and supporters to celebrate queer life in Hagerstown. Hagerstown Hopes, the local LGBTQ+ organization, organized the event to create a visible, joyful space for the community during Pride month. The outdoor venue allowed attendees to gather together in the warm spring weather and mark the occasion with one another.
Pride season arrives
The Hagerstown celebration arrives as Pride month kicks off across the country, with LGBTQ+ communities and their supporters organizing events to honor the history of the movement and celebrate queer identity. These gatherings—from small-town festivals to major city events—serve as reminders of the importance of visibility, solidarity, and joy within the broader LGBTQ+ community.
