Matt Dallas, the out actor best known for playing the title role in the 2006 sci-fi series Kyle XY, recently completed an eight-week fitness transformation and shared the impressive results with his followers online.
A Fresh Start
Dallas, who is 42 and married to photographer and musician Blue Hamilton, began his structured workout program in late July after gaining weight while working on a film project. In an Instagram post announcing the start of his routine with trainer Dermot Duffy, Dallas emphasized that the motivation went beyond shedding pounds. "Honestly not so much just to lose the extra weight, but to feel strong, clear headed, ok and maybe a little sexy," he wrote, framing the effort as part of a broader wellness journey.
Eight Weeks of Results
By the end of the program, Dallas's trainer shared that the transformation had exceeded expectations. "Now only 8 weeks in, Matt's in unreal shape. Stronger. Leaner. More consistent than he's been in years," Duffy wrote on Instagram, noting that Dallas had initially worried age might make weight loss harder. "Turns out it wasn't age—it was just a plan that actually fit his life," the trainer explained. Dallas himself documented the progress by posting shirtless photos showcasing his results, earning enthusiastic responses from his social media community.
Life Off Screen
These days, Dallas balances his acting career with family life. He and Hamilton, who married in 2015, are parents to two adopted children: Crow, whom they adopted in 2016, and Rosa, adopted in 2022. The couple has been visible supporters of LGBTQ+ causes and visibility since Dallas came out in 2013. Most recently, Dallas has been promoting his film Sheepdog, which explores trauma and post-traumatic growth and premiered on the festival circuit over the past year.
