Pride month heats up this week with the 79th annual Tony Awards taking center stage on June 7, hosted by pop superstar Pink. The ceremony promises to spotlight Broadway's most vibrant voices, including queer-centered shows like Cats: The Jellicle Ball and Titaníque among the nominees.

New queer cinema arrives across platforms

Streaming services and theaters are rolling out a diverse array of LGBTQ+ content. HBO Max debuts two standouts: Proud, a Polish series following a hard-partying gay man navigating unexpected parenthood, and Pillion, a kinky romantic comedy starring Alexander Skarsgård as a leather daddy who finds connection with his new partner. Prime Video offers What It Feels Like For A Girl, a BBC drama about a young trans woman's coming-of-age in the early 2000s U.K. club scene.

In select theaters, The Little Sister arrives June 5, a Queer Palm winner from Cannes about a young Muslim woman exploring her sexuality after moving to Paris. Also debuting that day is She's The He, a gender-bending comedy where two high school friends pretend to be trans in a sweet, smart subversion of the genre.

Comedy and prestige content round out the week

Starting June 7, Revry launches I'm Dead, a 12-part stand-up series featuring bold queer comedians including Drag Race's Salina EsTitties and other familiar faces from the comedy scene. AMC+ continues the Anne Rice saga with The Vampire Lestat on June 7, shifting focus to Sam Reid's rock-star version of the iconic character.

For those seeking deeper dives into queer storytelling, HBO Max also offers Bring Me The Beauties, a documentary about the wild
