Troye Sivan is opening a new chapter with a friend nobody saw coming: Nicole Kidman struts, smokes, and dances through the singer's new music video for "She's The Best," the lead single from his upcoming fourth album of the same name.

A Love Letter to Womanhood

Sivan wrote and produced the track with Jack Antonoff, Leland, Styalz Fuego, and George Daniel, and it plays like an ode rather than a romance. He repeats the refrain, awestruck, that she's simply the best, while the video splices his own narration with footage of drag queens and stage performers. Kidman appears in a black leather dress and feathered jacket, watching Sivan perform at a club before the two share a brief dance. Later, Sivan returns in drag, echoing the look he debuted in his 2024 video for "One of Your Girls," a visual thread that suggests this isn't a one-off costume change but a continuing part of how he explores gender on screen.

The one thing that has been constant in my whole life is the women in my life, and the feminine people in my life.

The Women Behind the Song

Sivan has been open about the specific women who shaped this project. He said the closing vocal on the track belongs to Charli XCX, whom he toured alongside on her 2024 SWEAT run, and that the album's artwork was co-directed by Imogene Strauss, a key visual collaborator on Charli's own era-defining releases. He credited working with Ariana Grande and Lily-Rose Depp, and growing up alongside Charli, as the backdrop for a song that, for once, isn't about a man. "I wasn't trying to psychoanalyse myself," he said of writing it.

MQ's Take

What stands out here isn't just the star power, it's who Sivan chose to center. Drag queens, trans women, and stage performers aren't decoration in this video, they're the point, sitting alongside a two-time Oscar winner as equally worthy of reverence. That's a small but meaningful statement in a pop landscape that too often treats queer and trans visibility as an afterthought rather than the source material.

What's Next

She's The Best lands October 9 as Sivan's first full album since signing with Interscope, following a catalogue that includes nine Hot 100 entries, three GRAMMY nominations, and eight ARIA Awards. His last record proved he can chart without compromising his voice; this single suggests the new one won't play it safe either.
